On November 12, 2025, delegation led by Vice Rector Ahmad Yunus of Universitas Sebelas Maret, Indonesia, visited SAAS. Vice President Liu Hong received the guests.

Liu Hong briefed the delegation on the basic overview of the academy and its scientific and technological innovation achievements. She stated that Indonesia, as a world-renowned rice-producing country, enjoys a high reputation for its rice in the Chinese market. She expressed the expectation that through cooperation with Universitas Sebelas Maret, new breakthroughs could be made in the R&D of rice-fish co-culture technology, to better serve the agricultural development and market demands of both countries. Mr. Yunus detailed the departmental structure and discipline development of Universitas Sebelas Maret and proposed to establish a multi-level scientific and technological cooperation relationship with SAAS based on scientific and technological innovation cooperation, through joint scientific research, co-application for scientific and technological projects, organization of international academic seminars, and mutual exchange of talents for study.

Director Lyu Weiguang, Deputy Director Xu Lihui of the Eco-enviroment Protection Research Institute, and the research team led by Researcher Zhou Wenzong from the Aquatic Organisms Research Group held an online meeting with Universitas Sebelas Maret and the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). Lyu Weiguang and Virender Kumar, Director of the Seed Innovation and Resource Sharing Center at IRRI, delivered speeches on behalf of both sides respectively; Zhou Wenzong introduced the research progress and application scenarios in integrated rice-farming systems.

Accompanied by Zhou Wenzong and Lyu Weiwei, the delegation visited the Shanghai Soil Science and Technology Museum, the Flower Germplasm Innovation Center, and the Zhuanghang Comprehensive Experimental Station of SAAS. They conducted on-site inspections of the eel germplasm resource bank, industrialized eel seedling breeding, industrialized recirculating aquaculture systems, integrated rice-farming systems, and aquaponics, among others.
