On April 3, The Hon. Jackie Jarvis MLC (Jackie Jarvis), the Minister of Agriculture and food, Government of Western Australia, led Ms. Tress Walmsley, CEO of InterGrain, Mr. Robert Dickie, Head of Government & Industry Relation at CBH Group, Mr. Peter Nash, Executive Officer of Grain Industry Association of Western Australia, and Mr. Jack King, Barley and Oat Quality Program Manager of Australian Export Grains Innovation Center, came to visit SAAS. President Cai Youming and Vice President Zhao Zhihui received the delegation. Yang Juan, Deputy Director of the Research Administration Division chaired the exchange meeting.

Vice President Zhao extended warm welcome to the arrival of the guests. He looked forward to extensive and in-depth cooperation with the Agriculture and Food, Government of Western Australia and related enterprises in areas such as agricultural technology innovation, technology commercialization, and talent cultivation, thus ushering in a new era of agricultural science and technology exchange and cooperation between the two regions.

Afterwards, Minister Jarvis shared information about agricultural technology and industrial application in Western Australia, hoping to establish a deep and all-round partnership with SAAS. Tress Walmsley, CEO of InterGrain, introduced the company's breeding platform and barley breeding program, following by Liu Chenghong, deputy director of the Biotechnology Research Institute, introduced the progress of barley research in SAAS. Both sides had an in-depth discussion on barley breeding and low-carbon agriculture.

Finally, President Cai introduced to the guests the exchange and cooperation with Australia in the early stage, and hoped to carry out in-depth cooperation with Australian scientific research institutions, universities and enterprises in the future.

In addition, Minister Jarvis and her delegation, accompanied by Vice President Zhao, also toured the Institute of Agro-food Standards and Testing Technology, Forest and Fruit Tree Research Institute and the Institute of Edible Fungi.
