On the afternoon of August 30, 2023, China – FAO – Cape Verde South-South cooperation project pre-departure meeting was held in SAAS. Hu Yingxiong, associate researcher of the Crop Breeding and Cultivation Research Institute, SAAS, and 6 other agricultural experts will successively set off to Cape Verde to carry out foreign aid mission. Ye Anping, director of the South-South and Trilateral Cooperation Division in FAO, Li Zhiping, deputy director of the Foreign Economic Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Ye Junping, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Agricultural and Rural Committee, and Yao Xun, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, SAAS attended the meeting.

Deputy director Ye presented the flag to the expert group and announced the expedition. The experts, who come from agricultural scientific institutions in Shanghai, Gansu, Hunan province, read out the oath of expedition. Their professional fields include seaweed cultivation, animal disease prevention and control, plant pest control, livestock soil water and fertilizer management, etc. They would give full play to their professional fields, contributing wisdom and helping developing countries improve their food security levels.
