SAAS scientist, Dr. Jia Lei, who is serving currently as visiting associate professor at Tohoku University, visited Norinchukin Research Institute, Tokyo and had a meeting with researcher Ishizuka Nobutaka on the development of urban agriculture on July 24, 2023.

Ishizuka introduced in detail changes and challenges in urban farmland policies in Japan and farmland creation and regeneration support projects being promoted in Tokyo. Dr. Jia Lei introduced the research achievements on urban agriculture of the Information Research Institute of Science and Technology, SAAS and innovative practices in promoting rural revitalization and urban agricultural development in Shanghai. Both sides expressed their desire for further cooperation during the exchange meeting.
