To implement the agricultural scientific research cooperation between SAAS and the UAE, enhance the global influence of agricultural science and technology in Shanghai, and promote the countries along the belt and road, on October 18, 2022, the research team of the Maize Center of Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the team of Mohammed Jaber, farmer in the Abu Dhabi region of the United Arab Emirates, who started demonstration planting of new corn varieties of SAAS for the first time, held an online test matchmaking meeting for new corn varieties.

On November 17, 2022, the two parties once again held an online video matchmaking meeting and conducted detailed exchanges on the cultivation and planting techniques of the "Shenke" series of new corn varieties selected by the Maize Center, SAAS. Under the sufficient communication between the two parties in the early stage, in early December, Mohammed Jaber's team began to carry out corn planting work such as soil cultivation and ridges, sowing of grains, fertilization and irrigation at the farm. During the whole cultivation process from corn seed sowing to corn ear harvesting, the research team of the Maize Center tracked in real time and maintained close online communication and guidance. During the planting process, in view of the tropical desert climate and high salinity of irrigation water in the Abu Dhabi region, the research team of the Maize Center put forward detailed cultivation technology suggestions and strategies in a timely manner.

In late February 2023, the farm in Abu Dhabi successfully harvested the three batches of corn ears. This achievement marks the successful demonstration planting of new corn varieties of SAAS in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
