To further promote the China-Vietnam International Joint Laboratory for Agricultural Sciences, and to achieve agricultural scientific research exchanges and cooperation, China-Vietnam excellent agricultural germplasm resources and technical interchange meeting was held in Hekou Yao Autonomous County, Yunnan Province by Biotechnology Research Institute, SAAS on Feb 27, 2023. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Lv Beibei, deputy director of the Biological Safety Evaluation and Testing Research Office.

At the meeting, experts exchanged and discussed the cultivation technology of maize, rice, edible fungi, tomato, and eggplant. In terms of talent training and platform co-construction, both sides agreed to further broaden the channels for cooperation and continue sharing talents, technology, and achievements from each other. The meeting played a positive role in the promotion and demonstration of excellent germplasm resources both in China and Vietnam.

More than 20 scientists and experts from Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University, National Maize Research Institute of Vietnam, Sichuan Agricultural University, Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences participated in the meeting.
