The Sino-Vietnam Excellent Agricultural Germplasm Promotion and Technical Interchange Conference
To further strengthen the sharing of scientific research achievements between China and Vietnam, the Sino-Vietnam International Joint Laboratory held a conference on the promotion of excellent agricultural germplasm resources and technical interchange at Biotechnology Research Institute on November 16. The meeting adopted the "online+offline" mode. More than 50 scientific and technological researchers from Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences (SAAS) and Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University (BAFU) attended the meeting. Liu Chenghong, Deputy Director of Biotechnology Research Institute, presided over the meeting.
Dr. Lv Beibei, researcher of Biotechnology Research Institute and who is in charge of the Sino-Vietnam International Joint Laboratory of Agricultural Sciences, first introduced the laboratory construction to the participants; Wu Xuexia and Zhang Hui, researchers of Horticultural Research Institute, Dr. Yu Hailong, scientist of the National Edible Fungi Industry Technology System and Institute of Edible Fungi, Dr. Hu Yingxiong, researcher of CIMMYT-China Specialty Maize Research Center and Crop Breeding & Cultivation Research Institute, Zhao Hongyang, deputy director of the Achievement Promotion Department of Shanghai Agrobiological Gene Center, and Dr. Song Lili, researcher of Biotechnology Research Institute, made thematic reports on the research progress of germplasm resources and biotechnology of special crops. Vietnamese experts made a thematic report on Vietnam's germplasm resources and planting environment. The in-depth exchanges at the conference promoted the substantial progress in the application of germplasm resources and technologies, provided a platform for high-quality agricultural development, and strengthened the communication and cooperation between the agriculture development in China and Vietnam.
On behalf of the Biotechnology Research Institute, director Shi Biao expressed sincere gratitude, and hoped that SAAS would maintain a long-term and stable cooperation with BAFU in terms of germplasm promotion and application, talent team training, research platform construction, and improving the scientific and technological influence of Shanghai with Vietnam and other ASEAN countries.
