On 13th May, invited by Eleonora Dupouy, Food Safety and Quality Officer of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, FAO , and Dr. Hans Marvin, senior scientist of Wageningen Food Safety Research and the leader of the cooperation project, Dr. Song Weiguo from the Institute of Agro-food Standards and Testing Technology attended the Online Workshop for Food Safety Early Warning and Emerging Risk Identification Tools.

This workshop also invited experts from the Netherlands, Russia, Mauritius, New Caledonia, Croatia, Macedonia and other countries to participate in discussions on the development of early warning systems for food safety and the identification of new food safety risks. Dr. Song Weiguo, on behalf of the institute, introduced the basic information of the institute to all the participants. He further shared opinions on the potentials of applying the study results in Shanghai and other cities, as well as the problems that might occur in terms of new risks, information acquisition, authenticity identification and model development, etc.
