On December 23th 2019, the delegation of agricultural experts from South Sulawesi, Indonesia visited our Academy. The members of the delegation are mainly from the Provincial Cooperative, Hassanuddin University and Bosowa Group. Vice President Zhao Zhihui, head of the Research Administration Division and the Crop Breeding and Cultivation Research Institute, SAAS welcomed the guests in Fengpu Campus. The welcome meeting was chaired by Shi Biao, deputy director of the Research Administration Division, director of the International Cooperation Office.

At the meeting, Vice President Zhao welcomed the guests and made a brief introduction of SAAS in discipline construction, international cooperation and personnel training. Prof. Zheng Hongjian, director of the Maize Center of the Crop Institute, introduced the basic situation of the promotion and application of fresh corn in countries along the Belt and Road Initiative. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the development and utilization of corn germplasm resources, cultivation and promotion of new corn varieties, corn nutrition enhancement and corn stress resistance. The delegation reached a preliminary cooperation intention to further carry out demonstration and promotion of new fresh corn varieties in Sulawesi province.
